Built on the N.P. southwestern line in 1881, Buttzville is only six miles from Lisbon. It has been an important grain shipping point at times. The Buttz brothers who owned a considerable acreage of land in the vicinity platted Buttzville. None of the businesses established there, other than an elevator, survived for long. The elevator is still in operation [1975] but this is all of the business in the town at the present time.
