Edwin Kurtz, 86, LaMoure, N.D., died Monday, May 15, 2006, at St. Rose
Care Center, LaMoure.
Mr. Kurtz was born Nov. 30, 1920, at Alfred, N.D., the son of G. G. and
Margaretha (Henne) Kurtz. He grew up in the Alfred area and attended
rural school. He served in the U.S. Army from April 12, 1942, until his
discharge on Oct. 18, 1945. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze
Star. After his discharge, he moved to the Adrian, N.D., area and farmed
with his brother, John. He moved to St. Rose Care Center on April 21,
1995.
He is survived by a sister, Verneta Nickel, Kansas City, Kan.; a
sister-in-law, Mathilda Kurtz, Hopkins, Minn.; and a brother-in-law,
Robert Beyer, Milbank, S.D.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dahlstrom Funeral Home Chapel, LaMoure.
Visitation: noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
