Harold A. Kurtz, 94, Jamestown, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, in Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center, Jamestown.

Mr. Kurtz was born Feb. 9, 1907, in Avon, S.D. He moved with his family to Alfred, N.D., in 1915, where he grew up and attended school. He married Pearl Seckerson Sept. 24, 1930, in Jamestown, where they lived. He worked for Jamestown Hide and Fur before serving in the Navy Seabees during World War II. They then farmed near Jamestown, and he worked for the farm department of North Dakota State Hospital. He retired in 1972. She preceded him in death.

He is survived by a son, Jerald (Fran), Jamestown; three daughters, Jeanette (Clayton) Hoyme, Moorhead, JoAn (Merle) Weatherly, Jamestown, Jean (Elroy) Ackerman, West Fargo; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.

Visitation: Today from 9-9, with a prayer service at 7, in Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Funeral: Friday at 10 in First Congregational United Church of Christ, Jamestown.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.
